Books I've Read Over The Last Year

2:03 PM

I'm an avid reader, I just love the atmosphere that can only be created by a book. But even though I really like it, the last year I haven't read that many novels. Still I'd like to share with you the best series of books I've read over 2013. I love it when you read a good book and just know that there are sequels following. Enjoy! Note: I read books purely for fun and to relax. If you're looking for big works of art in the literature department, this isn't the list for you. If you however are searching for a good book to read in the evening with some hot chocolate, a blanket and some good laughs or a thrill, this is it.

- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

- Covenant series by Jennifer L Armentrout

Happy reading!

My 5 favorite apps

What to wear
This must have app provides a complete outfit for every day of the week. At 7 PM, a notification lets you know the new outfit is ready! The app also shows where you can buy the items from the look. Fashion inspiration doesn't get much better (and easier) than this!

EBay
I just love browsing for things that (let’s be honest) I don’t really need. Like another cute iPhone cover. The eBay app is a great way to find that one item you’ve been looking for. Happy shopping!

Aviary
Beautiful photos are one thing, but adding a layer or a frame makes it much more fun! Aviary is the ideal way to spice up those pictures. The features include color splash, frames, stickers and focus. Make everyone jealous with your photo talent!

Fancy frame
Collages are great! Whenever I come back from a holiday or a day out, I make some. I think it’s one of the best ways to recreate the ambience of the trip in just one picture. This app is very easy to use, it makes collages in no time. A share button makes it simple to post your little works of art on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

Moves
Maybe an atypical app, but I really enjoy Moves. It tracks your movements and counts the steps you take. It’s both helpful (you know where you’ve been) and good for your health (trying to pass the 10,000 steps goal). I find that it’s more difficult than I thought to hit that goal. How well do you do?

Prepare yourselves for a very cold winter (at least it will be in Belgium)!

So I came up with some must haves to deal with the cold:

* A lovely scarf

Forever 21 - Geo Infinity Scarf - € 7,90

* A fancy hat
River Island - Coral Fair Isle Beanie Hat - € 14

* Some pretty gloves
River Island - Light Pink Cable Knit Cuff Gloves - € 14

* A warm sweater / cardigan
Vero Moda - Ronja Cardigan - €29,95

* Some warm and catchy leggings
Forever 21 - Wintertime Southwestern Leggings - € 17,75

* A skater skirt
River Island - Dark Grey Burnout Animal Print Skater Skirt - € 23,50

* A leather jacket
Vero Moda - Lupe Short Pu Jacket - €69,95
* Very warm socks
River Island - Beige Cable Rib Pom Pom Ankle Socks - € 5,90
* Boots
Forever 21 - Cool Commander Over-The-Knee Boots - € 48,90
So, if you have a few variants of each of these items in your closet, you can definitely enjoy the cold winterdays!

If you’re in the mood for a light but delicious lunch, this is the recipe for you! A simple but yummy wrap with smoked salmon.

Ingredients for two:
  • 100 g smoked salmon
  • Lettuce
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Croutons
  • Wraps
  • Caesar Salad Dressing

This is very easy to make. Just roll out the wrap, add all the ingredients, sprinkle some dressing on top and you’re done!

Enjoy!

Style Inspiration: Caroline Channing (2 Broke Girls)

I’m a HUGE fan of the TV series 2 Broke Girls, about two best friends working in a diner with the dream of opening a cupcake shop.

The character Caroline Channing, played by Beth Behrs, is a girl who was born rich but is now disgraced and penniless due to her father getting caught working a Ponzi scheme. Even though she’s lost her money, she hasn’t lost her flair.
Caroline has a very specific clothing style: always in soft colors like white, eggshell, beige, camel and grey. That is, if Caroline and Max are not wearing their ugly-ass uniforms!
Since she doesn’t have much money, a lot of items return frequently in the show. But still, the combination is always a win. And of course we can’t forget her pearl necklace, without which she feels naked.

Here are my favorite outfits – so far of course:
