Autumn is here! Bring in those beautiful colors with this easy DIY. Before you can start crafting, take a walk in a park or forest and collect all sorts of leaves. Big ones and small ones, green, yellow, red and brown. Don’t forget to enjoy your walk while you’re at it, nature is beautiful in autumn.
Once you’re back, take all the leaves you've brought home and press them. How do you do that? Take some old books or magazines and some paper towels. Fold the paper towels in two and put the leaves in between. This goes between the magazines. Repeat this until all your leaves are pressed. If necessary, place some extra weight on top of the stock of magazines. Leave this for about a week. When you take them back out after that time, the leaves should be dry and pressed. Now you can use them in all of your art projects!
This next project is a great way to spend an afternoon with kids. All you need are your pressed leaves, some wire and a ring shaped object. This way you make an autumn leaves waterfall!
It's very easy to make, just cut a few strings from the wire and start hanging the leaves on it. You can make as much as you want. Attach the decorated wires to your ring and hang it up in a place where the wind can play with it. Enjoy!
