Hi peeps,

Like I shared in my previous post, I went on a holiday to Lake Annecy in France last week.
Since it's so beautiful there, I decided to make a 'travel guide'. In the next few blog posts, I'll be sharing every must-see and must-do you need to know!

First up, I'll share something about the place itself.

Annecy is a city in the east of France, near Switzerland. It lies on the northern tip of Lake Annecy, a long, odd-shaped lake with perfect blue water. The lake is known for being the cleanest lake of Europe! So perfect for swimming and water sports.

The first thing we do when we arrive (it's a 10 hour drive from Antwerp!) is stop by the lake. Just to soak in all its beauty. The lake is surrounded by mountains. A perfect micro climate. Around the lake are multiple small villages. We stayed at Doussard. A little village with a supermarket, a bar and some small shops.

Annecy however is the place to be. The town consists of two parts: a modern part and a medieval one. The old town of Annecy is gorgeous.

After doing some shopping and enjoying the town, you'll want to stop at Beer O'Clock for a drink. This unique bar had a selection of beers from all over the world. And the fun part is: you get to tap the beer yourself! First, you buy a card, similar to a credit card and load some money onto it. The bar has a wall full of taps. Place the card next to the beer you wish to taste and you can fill up your glass. Such a fun concept.

After all those beers, you might want to get something to eat. The perfect little restaurant in Annecy is L'Estaminet. The food is great and the view even better. Don't go too late and try to get one of the tables in the back. There's a hidden terrace that looks over the water. Gorgeous place to eat.

Enjoy your day in Annecy and stay tuned for part two of this travel guide!
